I had to teach myself everything when I built my first home and that took a lot of time because I didn't have a friend or a mentor to show me the way!
NOW YOU HAVE ME TO SHOW YOU THE WAY! This course teaches you every step of building, gives you the opportunity to ask every question, shows you actual home building as it progresses! And you'll also be able to connect with others who want to build! And , if you don't already have land or a lot, it will teach you what to look for, what factors are critically important, what are not, and give you more than enough knowledge to make an excellent decision.
If someone had told me years ago that I would build my own home as a single woman who had no training in building, and that I would build my own 2-bedroom, 2-bath home with my own hands, I would have laughed at the thought.
This 11-min video showa the first home I built with my own hands -- and I still own it, many years later! YOU have the choice of whether to stay in your new home a long time, get a motgage on it and pull out a lot of cash above and beyond your building costs, rent it out, sell it and build another, or sell it and buy an existing house. Whatever you do, your investment in learning will SAVE you as much as $200,000, and it will earn for you as much as $200,000!! Most important, it will give you the footing to financially lift off FAST!
Circumstances had pushed me to do something bold and outrageous. I was financially backed into a corner. I had only one willing friend and $4,000 to start with, but that money bought lumber and the help of two wonderful framing carpenters for 5 days.
In those 5 days, we put in the post and beam foundation, raised the walls, installed the front door, put plastic over the window openings, put on the roof and covered it with 30-year "felt"- the tarpaper underlayment for shingles. At 10 pm on that 5th day of building in September, I moved into my new home from my tent with my dog and my toothbrush.
For the first time since buying my property on a lake, I slept in a solid structure, protected from the rain! I felt cozy and happy and amazed at what had come together from the efforts of just four people, working without the benefit of nailguns! At that time, I didn't even have electricity yet to run a compressor!
What I didn't know then could fill a book. But I had urgency and perseverence on my side! In the next few weeks while I was away at my job, traveling and speaking around the world, I read about how to do electrical wiring and plumbing. I couldn't afford to pay $5,000 for a plumber and $4,000 for an electrician. But I could put a couple of hundred dollars worth of materials on my Home Depot and Lowe's cards! When I got back to home base, I bought the electrical wire and PVC and CPVC plumbing pipes that I needed and worked up the courage to begin.
After putting in about 5 days of work installing the electrical wiring, plumbing lines, tubs, and insulation, as well as installing most of the windows, I contacted a drywall installer and hired him. While he worked on the drywall, I was outside putting stain on the tongue and groove boards that would go on the ceiling and putting up siding and trim. The last high windows were installed by a glass company;
When the drywall was done, I nailed the wood to the ceiling with the help of one other person. Then that person helped me to install toilets, sinks, and kitchen sink. I already had a microwave there. I bought a small stove and a refrigerator, had a propane heater and water heater installed, and I had a cozy home!
